Bringing healing to traumatised communities

PROJECT ORANGE

At this time of a global pandemic we wish to help the poor and vulnerable build resilience within their already compromised immune systems, in order to withstand the onslaught of Covid-19.

Medical experts and nutritionists recommend a daily VITAMIN C intake of 90 milligrams for men and 75 milligrams for non-pregnant women, in order to boost the immune system. An average (medium-sized) orange contains 70 milligrams of nature-fresh Vitamin C.

We have facilitated a donation of over 19 million oranges over the next 7 months which will be hand-picked during the harvest season. This donation enables us to feed 100 000 vulnerable people per day for seven months starting in May 2020.  The hand-picked oranges are donated by citrus farmers in the Olifants River Valley (Clanwilliam and Citrusdal area of the Western Cape).

Our target is to deliver 3 million oranges per month for seven months.

Help us implement this project and by so doing contribute towards combatting the Covid 19 pandemic in South Africa.
